HEATSINK FABRICATION / HEAT SINK FABRICATORS

heatsink
PCR Technologies has been a leading heatsink fabricator for the printed circuit board and aerospace industries for almost two decades. The majority of our heatsinks are fabricated on multi-spindle CNC drilling, routing & machining centers. This allows multiple processing of parts and tight tolerances to be held. Our CNC machining process also enhances the bonding surface by eliminating the burrs raised from a stamping process. This manufacturing method offers higher yields and a higher quality product without an increase in product expense.

PCR Technologies’ can also fabricate heat sinks utilizing a standard stamping process for less intricate pieces with less critical applications. Our ability to utilize and tailor multiple fabrication process supplies the best product at minimal cost.

At PCR Technologies, we utilize a variety of printed circuit board heatsink materials of various thickness and finishes to meet the most demanding applications of advanced technologies:

Commonly used materials :

• Aluminum (plate & extrusion)

• Copper

• Brass

A Variety of finishes:

• Anodize/Hardcoat MIL-A-8625 TY-1, TY-2, TY-3

• Black oxide MIL-F-495

• Chemical Conversion Coating MIL-C-5541

• Gold Plating MIL-G-45204

• Nickel Plate (General Purpose) QQ-N-290

• Nickel Plate (Electroless) MIL-C-26074

• Electro Deposited Sulfamate Nickel

• Silver Plating QQ-S-365

• Tin Plating MIL-T-10727

• Castall (Stycast) Insulating Compound

• Dry Film Lubricant MIL-L-8937  46010/46147

These finishes have been combined on a common heatsink to meet some very demanding requirements. (Dual finishes have been applied on the same heatsink. For example a chemical conversion coating has been applied on the heatsink bonding side for EMI protection combined with a hard anodize finish on the heatsink component to reduce the potential for component electrical shorts can be accommodated) PCR Technologies's ability to work with your design engineers to develop the most cost-effective solutions for material and finish selection is part of the value PCR Technologies provides.

Supplemental heat sink fabrication operations such as silk screen marking & mechanical assembly can also be provided to add further value to a product without requiring alternate sources of supply.
