CNC Milling of an Aluminum Heatsink
A Texas electronics manufacturer needed a short run of aluminum heatsinks manufactured to custom specifications. The heatsink was precision CNC machining on our HAAS CNC mill, and was composed of 6061-T6 aluminum. The machining process required profiling, drilling, tapping, and countersinking, and assembly required the installation of Helicoil inserts.
The finished part measured 9.187″ in length, 5.395″ in width, and .680″ in height, and was ffinished with a chemical conversion coating and black anodize. We also provided stenciling of the part number onto the heatsink.
